CEO/LEAD DENTIST

Dr. Mark Garner

Best of Black Hills '22 - VOTED BEST DENTIST Mark Garner DDS.

Dr. Mark Garner is the founder and CEO of Orchard Meadows Family Dental & Denture Clinic. He was voted Best Dentist in the Black Hills in 2022 and again in 2023, and is a member of the American Dental Association, the South Dakota Dental Association, the Black Hills District Dental Society, the American Association of Facial Esthetics, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He is also licensed to administer intravenous (IV) moderate sedation.

When he was 15 years old, Dr. Mark and his family moved to Rapid City, and he graduated from Rapid City Central High School in 1993. After high school, Dr. Mark enlisted in the United States Air Force and spent six years serving our country. After his military service, Dr. Mark attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center-College of Dentistry, and in 2006 he graduated with his Doctor of Dental Science (DDS) degree, with high distinction. He was inducted in the national dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) — one of only four students in his graduating class.

Dr. Mark strongly believes in giving and serving the community. He was instrumental in bringing two charity organizations to Rapid City designed to give free dental services to those less fortunate and without access to care. Dentistry With Heart, which usually takes place in April or May, is one day a year set aside for the less fortunate to receive free dentistry, no questions asked. Freedom Day is a national effort specifically designed to serve our underserved Veterans who may not have access to regular dental care. Dr. Mark and his team have also been on mission trips to Costa Rica, providing free dental services to residents in dire need of care.

When not making an impact on his patients’ lives at the office, Dr. Mark loves traveling and camping in the Black Hills with his wife, Lindsey, and their eight children.

DENTIST

Dr. Mason Hericks

Dr. Hericks grew up in Watertown, South Dakota. After high school, he attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and competed on the track team while earning his bachelor’s degree in biological sciences. Following graduation, Dr. Hericks attended Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Rather than stay in Nebraska, or return to eastern South Dakota, Dr. Hericks decided to make the Black Hills his home.

Dr. Hericks is focused on providing comprehensive care in general dentistry to all patients. Through continuous learning and expansion of skillsets, he anticipates being able to provide future services in implants and orthodontics to further enhance the care for his patients.

Outside of Orchard Meadows Family Dental, Dr. Hericks loves staying active in the outdoors, especially hiking, hunting, and skiing. He also enjoys playing a variety of sports, mainly golf, tennis, and pickleball. When it is time to stay indoors, you can usually find Dr. Hericks immersed in a book, or online enjoying video games.
