Dr. Mark Garner

Dr. Mark Garner is the founder and CEO of Orchard Meadows Family Dental & Denture Clinic. He was voted Best Dentist in the Black Hills in 2022 and again in 2023, and is a member of the American Dental Association, the South Dakota Dental Association, the Black Hills District Dental Society, the American Association of Facial Esthetics, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He is also licensed to administer intravenous (IV) moderate sedation.

When he was 15 years old, Dr. Mark and his family moved to Rapid City, and he graduated from Rapid City Central High School in 1993. After high school, Dr. Mark enlisted in the United States Air Force and spent six years serving our country. After his military service, Dr. Mark attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center-College of Dentistry, and in 2006 he graduated with his Doctor of Dental Science (DDS) degree, with high distinction. He was inducted in the national dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) — one of only four students in his graduating class.

Dr. Mark strongly believes in giving and serving the community. He was instrumental in bringing two charity organizations to Rapid City designed to give free dental services to those less fortunate and without access to care. Dentistry With Heart, which usually takes place in April or May, is one day a year set aside for the less fortunate to receive free dentistry, no questions asked. Freedom Day is a national effort specifically designed to serve our underserved Veterans who may not have access to regular dental care. Dr. Mark and his team have also been on mission trips to Costa Rica, providing free dental services to residents in dire need of care.

When not making an impact on his patients’ lives at the office, Dr. Mark loves traveling and camping in the Black Hills with his wife, Lindsey, and their eight children.

Dr. Tyler Juhlin

Dr. Juhlin grew up in Norfolk, Nebraska in the northeast part of the state. After high school he enrolled in the University of Nebraska and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, before entering the U of N Medical Center, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2021.

Based on his love of the great outdoors, Dr. Juhlin decided to make Rapid City and the Black Hills his new home following graduation. After meeting with Dr. Mark and the rest of the team, and seeing the upbeat, supportive environment around the clinic, he felt Orchard Meadows Family Dental & Denture Clinic was the best place to begin his dental career.

Dr. Juhlin’s current focus is providing general dentistry to all age groups. He is eager to continue learning how he can best serve his patients through the latest advancements and best treatment available. Future treatment areas include working with patients seeking implants and Invisalign treatment.

During his free time, Dr. Juhlin enjoys staying active through golf, tennis, working out, and hiking. He was recently introduced to hunting and fly fishing and the streams throughout the Black Hills. When it’s time to relax you can typically find Dr. Juhlin listening to music, playing video or board games, or taking in just about any sporting event you’d care to mention.

Neddie

Neddie started with Orchard Meadows Family Dental in October 2012 as the Patient Care Coordinator. She moved to the Financial Coordinator, then to Office Manager and is now the Chief Operating Officer, where she oversees all day-to-day operations in the practice. Neddie graduated from Western Dakota Tech in 2014 with Expanded Function Dental Assistant and Radiology Certifications. She stays current on dental trends with continuing education credits exceeding the requirements of the State of South Dakota to provide her patients with the best of what dentistry has to offer. Outside of the office Neddie and her husband Kyle enjoy traveling, the outdoors, and spending time with their two beautiful kids.

Nicole

Nicole’s dental career started in high school in 1994 working in her hometown dental office. She received her Dental Assisting certificate and Associates of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene at the North Dakota State College of Science. Nicole has worked in Rapid City since 1999 and joined Orchard Meadows Family Dental & Denture Clinic in 2016. Her deep care and concern for people is reflected in her positive attitude and delivery of dental services. She enjoys staying current on the latest research in preventative oral health care and studied Ultrasonics in Provo, Utah under Dr. George M. Bailey DDS, Periodontics. Nicole has served as President of the Black Hills Dental Hygiene Association and Secretary of the South Dakota Dental Hygiene Association. She loves volunteering, offering her talents during a mission trip to Belize as well as locally at the United Way Day of Caring, Dentistry with Heart and Freedom Day. Her enjoyment comes from spending time with family and friends, traveling, get out into nature, and reading.

Cassandra

Cassandra grew up in the Black Hills and began her dentistry career in 2008 as an orthodontist’s assistant. She received her associate degree in Dental Hygiene from Sheridan College, in Sheridan Wyoming, in 2016. Because of her background in orthodontics, Cassandra has a passion for myofunctional disorders – problems with mouth and facial muscles that can lead to problems swallowing or speaking. She is currently furthering her education to help her patients with those issues. Cassandra’s primary goal is to listen to her patient’s needs and concerns and provide the best possible dental experience. When not working with her patients, Cassandra enjoys spending her free time outdoors hiking, paddle boarding, and going on adventures with her daughter.

Haley

Haley was born in Las Vegas, Nevada and moved with her family to the Black Hills while she was in middle school. After graduating from high school, she ran track at Black Hills State University, but decided she wanted to pursue a career in dentistry. Haley transferred to Sheridan College dental hygiene program in Sheridan, WY and received the Golden Scaler Award – an award given each year to a hygiene student for outstanding clinical achievement. Following graduation in 2016, Haley returned to Rapid City and worked at another dental practice before coming to Orchard Meadows in 2020. Haley loves the outdoors and spends her free time fishing, boating, hiking, golfing, and snowboarding. She also enjoys singing and live music events.

Amber

Amber graduated from the University of South Dakota with a degree in Dental Hygiene in 1995. She started her career in Bismarck, ND and moved to Rapid City in 2001. A career highlight for Amber happened in 2003 when she took part in a dental mission trip to Romania. She used primitive equipment to help a population in extreme need for dental services. Amber and her husband, Chris, have a teenage son and daughter that consume their time with multiple sporting activities. In the summer, Amber and family spend their time together fishing and tubing at their cabin on the Missouri River. They also love the hills and enjoy geocaching while riding the trails.

Kimberlee

Kimberlee grew up in a small town in southeastern Montana. In 2021, she received a Bachelor of Applied Sciences in dental hygiene through the University of Wyoming, while attending the Sheridan College Dental Hygiene Program in Sheridan, WY. Following graduation, Kimberlee decided to make the Black Hills her new home and started at Orchard Meadows Family Dental in June of that year. She is very passionate about providing the best possible patient care. When not helping patients, Kimberlee keeps busy antiquing, traveling, enjoying the outdoors, and helping on the family ranch back in Montana.

Faith

Faith has called the Black Hills home since 2007 and began her dentistry career in 2013. She started as a dental assistant alongside Dr. Mark for two years before moving to Arizona to pursue a Dental Hygiene degree. Faith received her associate degree in Dental Hygiene from Mohave College, in Bullhead City, AZ in 2022. She then returned to Rapid City and rejoined Orchard Meadows. Faith is passionate about dental hygiene and strives to provide a comfortable, patient-focused experience. When she is not working with patients Faith enjoys gardening, reading, hiking, and exploring the Black Hills.

Sarah

Sarah is a native of Polson, MT and at the age of three moved to Spearfish, SD with her family. After high school she took a position as a dental assistant for a local dental practice. She enrolled in an apprenticeship program through Western Dakota Technical College where she achieved her license as a Certified Dental Assistant with expanded functions and Dental Radiographs in 2002; passing her Dental Assisting National Board in 2007. For seven years she worked in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery and completed The Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination. Since joining Orchard Meadows Family Dental & Denture Clinic, Sarah has developed professionally, and her skills have broadened with hands on denture and bridge work. Her love of helping people as well as her passion of dentistry has spanned a 16-year career and it shows in her interaction with her patients. You will find Sarah spending time with her family and friends, watching movies or reading a good book and venturing in the outdoors.

Sheila

Sheila was born and raised in Rapid City and moved, with her husband Jason to Maine in 2001. After 15 years in our eastern most state, Sheila and the family moved back to South Dakota. She enrolled in the Dental Assistant program at Western Dakota Tech and graduated in May 2019 and joined the Orchard Meadows team in September. In her free time, Sheila enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, camping and baking.

Madi

Madi began working at Orchard Meadows front desk in 2016 and soon decided to make the dental field a career. She enrolled in the Western Dakota Tech Dental Assistant program and graduated in May 2018. Following graduation, Madi worked in a local dental office and rejoined the Orchard Meadows team in August 2019.  Madi loves taking care of her patient’s needs, no matter their age. When not caring for her patients, Madi loves spending time with friends, her husband Brandon, and son Deegan.

Tia

Tia is from Hill City, SD and graduated from Lake Area Technical Institute in 2017 as a Registered Dental Assistant with expanded functions. In 2019 she received her Associates degree in Applied Sciences for Dental Assisting and moved back to Rapid City following graduation. Tia initially worked in an orthodontics office but decided to switch to general dentistry and started at Orchard Meadows in February 2020. In addition to her dentistry career, Tia is a Human Resources Specialist with the South Dakota National Guard. In her spare time she likes to hang out with family and friends, and taking part in outdoor activities with her dog Zoey.

Myriah

Myriah grew up in eastern South Dakota and attended Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown, SD where she received an associate of dental assisting and expanded functions degree in 2013. Myriah passed her dental assisting national board test in 2018, and currently holds dental assisting licenses in both South Dakota and Minnesota. After graduation, Myriah worked in a general dentistry practice East River before moving to the Black Hills in 2017 where she worked in another general dentistry office. In 2019 she switched to an orthodontic clinic but missed general dentistry and came to Orchard Meadows in 2020. When not working with her patients, Myriah enjoys spending time hiking in the Hills, thrifting, hanging out with family and friends, and playing with her two dogs, Frankie and Maya.

Jamie

Jamie was born and raised in Rapid City. She joined the Orchard Meadows Family Dental & Denture Clinic team in 2021 after graduating from Western Dakota Tech in 2020 with a degree in Dental Assisting. Jamie is the mother of two children – a five-year-old and a two-year-old – and one dogs. In her free time, Jamie likes listening to music and outdoor activities with her family.

Aspen

Aspen was born and raised in Nebraska but has called the Black Hills her home since 2014. She started in dentistry in 2015 on the office/administrative side, but after three years she realized she had a passion for clinical work and transitioned to dental assisting in 2018. Aspen joined the Orchard Meadows team in 2022 and soon after passed her Dental Assisting National Board exam. She and her husband, Jeremiah, have three young children and in their free time the family stays busy with outdoor activities and playing board games.

Kelia

Kelia was born and raised in Rapid City, SD. She was graduated from Western Dakota Tech in 2020 and worked at another local dental office before joining the Orchard Meadows Family Dental team in May 2022. When not helping her patients, Kelia enjoys going to the lake, fishing, hanging with friends and family. She’s also getting married to the love her life, Sawyer, in 2023.

Brooklynn

Brooklynn was born and raised in Rapid City and joined the Orchard Meadows Family Dental team in 2023. When not caring for patients, Brooklynn loves spending her free time golfing, shopping, and hanging out with her boyfriend, True.

Jo

Jo is originally from Poland and moved to England when she was 18 years old. That’s where she met Billy, her future husband. At the time, Billy was in the United States Air Force (USAF) and stationed at RAF Mildenhall – a Royal Air Force station that primarily supports USAF operations. They got married, had three children, and lived all around the world, including a few years at Ellsworth AFB. Their time at Ellsworth made an impression, so when Billy’s military career ended the family moved to Rapid City, and in 2022, Jo started working at Orchard Meadows Family Dental & Denture Clinic.

Mackenzie

Mackenzie was born and raised in the Black Hills. She moved to the Florida Keys in 2015 and became a scuba instructor, and in 2022 she happily moved back to South Dakota to be closer to family and friends. She started with Orchard Meadows Family Dental in 2023 and is part of the team responsible for disinfecting and sterilizing all dental equipment following every appointment. When not caring for patient safety, Mackenzie spends her time taking care of her three pets – dogs Keeluh and Snickers, and cat Fluffy. She also likes camping, hiking, scuba diving, and traveling.

Amy

Amy started in the dental field in 2005 and graduated from the Western Dakota Tech Dental Assisting program in 2007. Her passion for providing the highest level of service led her to specialize in the front office patient care where she coordinates patient communication and scheduling. Amy grew up and raised her four children here in Rapid City. In her free time, Amy enjoys hiking, camping, and photography with her husband, Shawn and children Joslin, Jewel, Ian and Caine.

Murphy

Murphy was born and raised in Aberdeen, SD. After high school, she earned an Associate Degree in Human Services/Mental Health from Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown, SD. She found herself in Rapid City in 2019 and joined the Orchard Meadows team in 2022. In 2022 she also finished her pre-requisites for Dental Hygiene school and earned an additional Associate Degree in Health Sciences from Sheridan College. Murphy plans to one day move from the front office side of the practice to the chair side. Outside of work, Murphy spends her free time — which is scarce — with her family and three crazy dogs.

Sara D.

Sara was born and raised in Rapid City and graduated from Central High School in 2014. She spent four and half years working at a local call center, but grew tired of never meeting the people she was helping. She took some advice from her sister in law (Jamie, one of our dental assistants) and came to work at Orchard Meadows Family Dental & Denture Clinic in May 2022. Sara says she enjoys all things dark, spooky, and Halloween related. When not helping patients, Sara likes spending time with her significant other Teran, his son, and her “fur baby” Chevelle.

Billie G.

Billie came to work at Orchard Meadows Family Dental & Denture Clinic in October 2021, first as executive assistant to Dr. Mark and chief operating officer, Neddie. Billie later added Patient Care Coordinator to her job description. Along with her almost four-year-old son, Billie and her husband welcomed a sweet baby girl to the family in May 2023. Outside of work, Billie enjoys spending her free time with her growing family, either in the kitchen or doing anything outdoors.

Taylor

Taylor was born in Wyoming but grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Following her graduation from Rapid City Central High School in 2017, Taylor attended Eastern Wyoming College to study veterinary technology in Torrington, WY. After some time in school, Taylor came back to Rapid City and joined our team in 2022 as our hygiene coordinator. Taylor is planning on attending the South Dakota State University nursing program for a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree. When she is not helping patients at Orchard Meadows Family Dental, or busy with schoolwork, you can find Taylor out and about hiking around the hills with her dog Diesel.

Scott

Scott joined Orchard Meadows in May 2019. He has a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from St. Cloud State University and worked for over 20 years in the local non-profit sector in a variety of public relations and marketing positions. Prior to that, Scott was a reporter with KOTA-TV. He and his wife, Margaret, have three adult children and enjoy spending their ‘empty nest’ time traveling.
